9 Tips To Maintain The Smooth Running of Windows XP

windows-xp-professionalThere are many things that cause a computer to be slow from software to hardware. It may be a little too hard or not enough RAM. It can be anything in the BIOS and / or settings of the operating system for programs that consume CPU and RAM (no matter how many you have). Or perhaps the network.

Personally, my computer work as a young mother with a house full of children 12 to 18 hours per day.

This mother needs to relax at the end of the day and my team and probably yours, too.

Here are 9 Tips to be completed which can help keep your computer happy and working without complaint:

1. It is so basic that should not have to say, always keep the mail program you use clean. I have customers who are always complaining, but they refuse to dump years of accumulated e-mail.

2. Make sure you have a good anti-virus (one per team, please) have to date, and automatic tracking.

3. Make sure you have a consumer good anti spyware (one per computer), which have to date and monitoring system.

4. Run Disk Clean Up Daily (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Clean Up – opens a box – Make sure each box is checked, click “OK” – a box appears – click Yes).

5. Delete cookies and cached files every day (Start, Control Panel, if you have not yet done, click Edit ‘to Classic View, Internet Options – a pop up – Delete cookies, click OK, click Delete Files – Select “Delete all offline content” – Click OK You set the Clear History button for more than 7 days – if you have not used for a week, you may will not miss it – Click OK)

6. A very important step, almost everyone loses: Clear the Prefetch folder (Start, My Computer, C, Windows, Prefetch, Edit, Select all the files, delete – pop up box will appear – click Yes, Close the window Windows)

7. Empty Trash. For the sake of brevity, I assume that everyone knows where you are and how empty it.

8. C Scan Hard Drive “(Start, My Computer, Right Click C ‘- box opens – click Properties at the bottom – opens another box – Click on Tools, click Check Now Make sure’ Automatically fix system errors “and” Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors “are checked, then click Start. a cup of coffee (oh, black, thank you) and wait!

9. Defrag PC (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter – opens the window – C ‘drive select’, click Defragment). Pop a top and wait!

The last two stages (8 and 9) may take some time if you have not done recently. I can finish this whole routine in my team just before going to work on the day of all days and the entire sequence is not more than 20 minutes and often much less.
